Abeer Abutalib is a designer based in London specialising in illustration, photography, multimedia, print and branding. She has a strong interest in creating visual imagery using more experimental techniques both hand-drawn and digital.

Colour, culture and movement are recurring motifs incorporated in her design work. She enjoys creating visual moments using her illustrations to tell stories with a powerful sense of journey.

Abeer graduated from the University of Westminster with an MA in Design for Communication. For her final major project, she chose to illustrate poems from a Sudanese poet Al-Saddiq Al-Raddi. With each poem she used a different narrative, different illustration styles, turning short poems into short stories. In Sudan, there is a saying, ‘A tree is strong because of its roots’. From her culture she wanted to focus on something directly linked to her roots and so developed this narrative and turn it into a story - a journey, with English and Arabic translations taken from the original poems.
